Exploring tech through movies, series, and games

In our fourth English class, we explored how cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) are represented in popular media. It was a fun and thoughtful session where we connected technology with entertainment and real-life issues.


What did we do?

  1. Talked about movies, series, and games related to AI and cybersecurity:

    • 🎞️ I, Robot

    • 🎞️ Ex Machina

    • 📺 Mr. Robot

    • 🎮 Detroit: Become Human

  2. Shared opinions about each story:

    • What is the message behind the story?

    • How does it affect or reflect humanity?

    • What dangers or benefits of technology are shown?

  3. Played a Kahoot game
    – We tested our memory and understanding of vocabulary and topics discussed in class in a fun and interactive way.


Skills we developed:

  • Speaking & critical thinking: expressing ideas and analyzing plots.

  • Listening & comprehension: understanding different points of view.

  • Tech vocabulary: learning terms related to AI, hacking, and futuristic systems.

  • Engagement: using Kahoot to reinforce learning in a fun way.


Reflection:

Movies and games can teach us more than grammar — they help us reflect on the future. Through these stories, we discussed how technology is shaping society and why ethical thinking is important in the digital age.
